                                         The Syeribus Trilogy Book One
It's the late 1940's, in a small English province. Young
Carol has the perfect family, an imaginative, adventurous life.... Things suddenly
all change when Carol begins hearing and seeing things.

Foreboding sounds, creeping shadows, fill her
room at night. Are they simply sounds of a house--and herself--Settling in
for the night? Or are they stirrings of a terrible fright? When Carol moves to
America, she finds the strangeness she thought she'd left behind has instead
followed her.

This can't be all in her mind!

Follow Carol's search through the depths of reality
and fantasy; as she struggles to uncover the shocking source of a shadowy,
sinister fear that follows her... How far will you go with Carol
to uncover the truth?

Syeribus Creatures Of The Night series Book 1 eBook L M Boelz

Syeribus is a dark and lovely fairy tale, along the lines of the brothers Grimm at their best. A story about a gifted story-teller whose power draws creatures of nightmare into the light. At times lyrical and hideous, this story draws the reader in and takes their breath away in fright. Although the protagonists in this story are children, I would say this is a tale for young adults, or grown-ups. It's a little too intense for the littlest readers.
A very well-done spooky fest!

Syeribus Creatures Of The Night series Book 1 eBook L M Boelz Reviews

This is one creepy book!

Shades of Stephen King as L.M. Boelz weaves a weird and eerie tale of creatures that lie under your bed or in your walls and may grab you at any time. Fears I used to have as a child have returned as a result of reading this book.

No such things as monsters in the closet, my parents used to assure me. I'm not sure Ms. Boelz agrees.

This book is a blast and suitable for all ages from young adult to seniors. It may be a little too intense for younger readers.

The author writes with vivid detail and captivating prose. A very clean book with few errors and is well edited and formatted.

The opening with a spooky campfire scene sets the tone for the entire book. It has an old-time feel of horror stories and is a delightful and highly recommended read.
The author submitted a copy of the book to me in exchange for a review.

The book has all of the elements of our beloved classic spooky stories with some very necessary updates to keep it relevant to today's readers. The style is very descriptive and easy to get into. Anyone who has reread the popular spooky books from the 80s and 90s will note the now obviously dated language. At the time, it was great, but now it looks old and kind of silly. This book by Boelz is written for this time period but still maintains that old charm, which I think readers will find to be really pleasing. I was certainly excited to read through the book because it reminded me of my own childhood and will give me the chance to share something that was so enjoyable to me as a child with my children in a way that I know they will also quite enjoy.

Younger readers will really be able to relate to Carol and will be able to completely immerse themselves in the story. If purchasing this book for a reader around the age of ten or eleven years, I recommend going all out and breaking out the smores, blankets, and flashlights too. Even teenaged readers may enjoy a similar ritual when reading this to get the maximum effect. The book will be a lot of fun for them to read.
Is there any child who isn't, at some point, afraid of the dark? Who doesn't, at some time, harbor a terror of the Things that lurk in the closet or hide under the bed?
Eventually, most of us grow out of those night-terrors. We laugh at our fears, peer under our beds at ... nothing more frightening than dust-bunnies or, at worst, boxes of accumulated possessions that we have nowhere else to store.
But ...
What if our fears have basis in reality? What if there are indeed creatures that lurk under our beds, waiting for that moment when the lights go out and we are helplessly locked in sleep ...
Welcome to the world of Syeribus, Creatures of the Night!
I have given this book 4 stars because of some editing issues, but the story itself, the premise, is 5-star worthy. L.M. Boelz does a wonderful job of building on the fear that lurks in our subconscious - the fear that - when we are at our most vulnerable - we are not alone.
She also provides some beautifully on-target descriptions, and I love authors who can weave spells with their words.
Without giving away the plot, the story is about a group of children who discover that the "bogieman" indeed exists.
Let me add, in my opinion, this isn't a book for children! It is a book for those who love tales of terror, tales of the supernatural - a book for people who enjoy a story that will leave you with shivers along your spine, and that doesn't involve (so far as I can tell) vampires or werewolves!
Two caveats First, the story builds slowly, so don't expect to be immersed immediately in the night-terror. Boelz does, however, have a definite talent for building tension. The book, for me, was a page-turner.
Second, the ending is a cliff-hanger. If you want to know what's going to happen next - You have to get the next book in the trilogy. Which I intend to do.
